Congratulations, Russell! We didn't forget, though for the first time, the voting was so clear, we didn't expect a late surge, come-from-behind, somewhat suspect, hanging chads in Florida type of thing.
While the Cat Stairs easily took first place, you are all winners. Congrats to Willy & MC as well as to Serra (from the Greenest Thumb Contest) for putting up such dazzling entries and inspiring us all with your imagination and know how. And thank you to the nine other entries for their gumption and originality.
Each of our three top winners will be hearing from Jill very shortly and then getting a chance to head over to Zoomies and pick up their prize.

Thanks for the votes, everyone. Dodger and Oliver meow their thanks, too (the halos are hysterical -- and nearly always deserved, too). My biggest reason for entering the contest was for neither accolades nor prizes, but to encourage everyone with cat companions to provide them with their particular comforts; places to scratch, places to climb, places to hide. Indoor cats especially are home 24-7, make it theirs as much as it is yours! Peace.

I actually found the titling of these contest entries confusing as the yellow "kitty loft" looked more like "stairs" to me. I forget which one I voted for now as I thought they both used a similar cool idea for providing kitty climbing space.
Congrats Russell... your cats are lucky to live in such a swank, kitty-friendly pad. And speaking of, how about showing us the rest of it? That sofa and especially the painting over it are very cool. Take some photos and share!
Rob - thanks for the comments. I'm all for swank ;) I appreciate your interest in seeing the rest of my pad, but it's actually a small, temporary location until my new place is ready, and so while I've done all I can to make it habitable for the time being, it's nothing like what I would take pictures of and show off. Maybe next year when the rest of my stuff is out of storage and the new place is all swankified I'll post some snaps... Wait 'til y'all see what I have in store for the kitties in the NEW place...
