Sassy dogs with sassy little houses: Check out Precious Palaces for some really over-the-top interior dog houses. What caught our eye was the custom-made ottoman design. But they only get posher from there...

The fact that you would post $3000 dog houses on your site and not even comment the ridiculous excess of this, makes me wonder if this site (or poster) is completely out of touch with the reality of everyday life. Why not get a gold-plated scooper too?

No one is saying that you have to drop 3K on these items, but apartment therapy is a go-to-site for items of a variety of price points. To me, this is a great inspiration post--just right for a DIY version.

I love the pet posts! Thank you!

I think they charge enough to spring for a nicer website.

I met Betsy Boggs a few years ago when both of us were using the same upholstery workroom. Very nice, very fun woman. I suggested she do a BDSM bed and see that there's one on the site. I doubt she got the idea from me. I'm sure she came up with it on her own but it's fun to see one that she did.

Yeah, they're super expensive but you have to admit that they're definite eye catchers!

This would be hilarious if only it were a joke!

I don't know about anyone else's dog, but mine would rather sleep in the laundry basket (on top of a pile of dirty clothes).

i could see these being made in a weekend with materials found at any michaels or crafty store.

for $3000 it's stupid, but for $30 it's cool!

I'm amused. Not enthused to buy, (for one thing my littler dog is too big) but for DYI, it'd be hysterical.

I'm pretty sure it'd end up full of cats, though, or my pitbull would hide her rawhide in it, then go to sleep on my bed.

Hey my dog likes her $600 bed frame and $700 mattress topper. It's called MY BED. ;)

Seriously, these are kinda overkill and although I didn't check out the site, the samples provided ARE kind of ugly IMO. I wouldn't even bother spending $3 on them...

How would you get dog hair off velvet?

I agree there need to be some pit sized beds, though like JosieDaisy, I doubt that would keep him off my bed either.

I can't see any of those fitting in with my apartment, nor can I see my dog using them. Frankly, I think her crate looks better than these options.

LOL! Great for home projects, I agree. Lots of fabric stores in the city... and it's not that hard to get yer hands on some plywood! Keep your extra crown molding around too..
