Modern Cat Tree: The Climber from Cat Livin

2-13-cat-climber-1.jpg We always get requests for modern and small-scaled pet accessories - especially for cats. This new door-mounted cat tree comes from a new company, Cat Livin, and is named The Climber. Minimal in design, The Climber's most notable feature is that it is door-mounted. It requires very little space, perfect for a small-space dweller...

Cat Livin chose sisal for it's natural properties and appeal to both cats and modern homes...

Currently The Climber is only available wholesale from Pet Manufacturers. The product was just launched, so it should be appearing in stores soon. It looks like it will retail for around $200. Via: ModernCat.

It looks pretty cool, although I have some doubts about the door mount.

I am sure a handy person out there can make this. Too bad that person is not me....

I like this. I wonder if you could hang it off something other than a door...

It looks like a lazy man's version of the awesome "Cat Stairs" entry from the "My Design's Dreamy!" contest in 2006. And I may be that lazy man! (I've I've been thinking about making those stairs for I guess almost 2 years now but have taken no steps to make it happen.)

I agree that those were amazing. I don't even have a cat and I liked them, and I'm generally not that crazy about pet stuff. Anyway, this is rather pretty, too.

Best in Show (in the Castro- SF) has this. I was eyeing it. Just not sure on the price/industrial carpet on it/the perfect door for it.

Vertigo- you center it on your door so the door is completely functional- knob and all.

Hello, I am the owner of Cat Livin and have some answers to your concerns/questions.

the door mount is very secure due to a spring loaded bracket at the bottom that provides tension so the climber doesn't move.

Shelfs are tested to 25lbs.

during assembly you have the option of reversing the shelves to accommodate the position of the knob.

We are working on a wall mount version to be released this summer.

The castro version is by smartcat and is carpeted, this is the CatLivin version and is 100% sisal covered.

PS they sold out in one day and are reordering.

Please let meknow if you have any other questions...
