Pet Murphy Bed

11-30-pet-murphy-bed-2.jpg 11-30-pet-murphy-bed-3.jpg Dog Naps. While this design isn't as modern as Hepper's Pet Beds, it made us chuckle. It's a Murphy Bed for pets. The wall cabinet (in either Mahogany or Black) folds down to form a relaxing pet mattress (with removable, washable fleece cover). The bed supports pets up to 200lbs!...

The Pet Murphy Bed is $279 from Solutions. Expensive! We'd love to see an IKEA-hack for under $100 perhaps a kitchen cabinet as a start? How would you make your own Pet Murphy Bed?

OK, that thing looks rediculous.

lol. Can the dog fold it down and up? Now, that's something I would spend 20k on. Well, not really.

I would get someone to make it for me.

Brilliant! I'd get it in a heartbeat...if I had a dog.

I like the idea and think it is funny. But seeing my dogs spend almost all day sleeping it would always be folded down. And I would give 20K to see him work it himself also.

Do dogs have regular sleep schedules? Because otherwise, wouldn't you just end up leaving it open all the time?

My point exactly, "shani-o" and "alexis"

My big dog sleeps on the floor. He likes it just fine. The small one sleeps on.. well, the bed.

EXACTLY! It makes me wonder if this was designed by someone who actually owns a dog.

My dogs sleep a lot and it's never, ever on something designed for them. They prefer human comforts.

(I resorted to buying them their own down comforter. I know it's ridiculous but I couldn't tolerate their antics one more second. Alas, they still prefer my comforter.)

Um, I think the point is that you CAN close it up... when having a party, for example.

Exactly, you want to be able to get the dog bed out of sight once in a while. And it's a hoot.

Doesn't "20k" stand for $20,000?

Fortunately for those who like it, it only costs $279.

Ok so you have a party and put away your dog bed - now where does your dog go to hang out?
Sorry it just isn't logical.

Guys! It's $279!!! Not "20K"! For $20,000, it better sleep both of my dogs AND clean up their #2's. And dispose of them. And groom them. And feed them.

My dogs would use it at night only, and I would fold it up every morning. They have crates to sleep in during the day, in the living room, and dog beds for night time in our bedroom, so I would find it useful.

Hehehe. This thing made me giggle. I can just imagine a tiny dog settling in for a nap then *snap!* The door closes. This might just be one of the silliest things I've ever seen. Cute dog in the photo though.
