Pet Photography by Amanda Jones

We first discovered photographer Amanda Jones at our neighborhood coffee shop, Grey Dog. Of course, the Grey Dog only cares for dogs, but Amanda photographs dogs cats and other animals (you should see the baby duck!)...

Amanda started taking photographs of dogs after graduating from Ithaca College with a degree in Cinema & Photography in 1992. Her best friend asked her to photograph her yellow lab, Ruby, and her path has been set ever since.

She now lives in North Adams, Massachusetts — see her website for her portfolio, press and contact information.

My dog, Monte is one of the pictures in the Grey Dog!! Those pictures are from the book that she just published and that my dog is on the cover of.

(And which I will shamelessly pimp, once again, "Greyhounds Big And Small - Iggies and Greyts" available in bookstores now!)

Amanda rocks! She has an amazing rapport with dogs, and you can see it in her photographs. My dog loved her and I'm sure yours will too.

The sound you hear is the pitter patter of my little heart.

Absolutely beautiful!

(By the way, I tried to post the above using the word "b_u_t_t" instead of "bum" but was told I couldn't due to "questionable content"! Kinda funny...)

Amanda,
A while back I read the article about you that was in the Transcript. I really enjoyed it. You do amazing photography and other work with animals.
I am an animal communicator. From that perspective I could feel so much compassion that you share with the dogs in the pictures. Your energy sparkled with joy.
I look forward to seeing your book in the stores.

Great photos! For those in the San Francisco area, Ann Hamilton (www.annhamilton.com) has a similar style of pet photography - she's incredible (I can vouch for her since she recently took our wedding photos)!

I've had her take photos of my dog too - she's amazing. Seriously - great photos. She worked so well with my little pooch and I was amazed by some of the poses she got out of her.

It's not cheap, but I have NO regrets! The only bad thing about the photos is that there are entirely too many good ones to choose from! A year later & I still haven't figured it out!

The top left picture with the dog's in coats I believe is of the dog called Brussels Griffin... I am just curious if anyone here has ever owned one and what they thought?
Thanks!
