The best of the West. We kept hearing so many good things about Velocity Art & Design from readers that we just had to enter them into the Stores Guide...even if they are in Seattle.
Velocity is a mid-century modern haven. With original designs from Eames, Panton and Breuer and top picks from the murders row of current fun design: Jonathan Adler, Blu Dot, Arad, Dwell, Mibo, etc.... Velocity has a big selection with no crap. There is a good, funky eye behind this shop.
Unlike many online ventures, they are not afraid to sell a really broad range, including beds, dressers, lighting, artwork, accessories, pillows, rugs, paper products.... they are like DWR, the MoMA store and Kate's Paperie thrown together.
Our favorites are the Mibo lamps and shades, their Area Bedding (it's got more groove than Dwell), and the Modernica Case Study Bed ($1,500). They are definitely on the must-window-shop tour if this is your style. MGR

Velocity is great - highly recommend them. Great, helpful staff. Thhey also have some interesting and relatively affordable artwork.
I've done mail-order with Velocity, and they've been very helpful and hands-on -- a nice small-company feel, with a well-chosen catalogue. Highly recommended.
Their lovely new shop is just around the corner from my apartment here in Seattle. The proprietors are a really nice couple. I also highly recommend Velocity.
Modern furniture... yes it sure looks great, with such design you can't fail decorating interiors. I recently bought a Concord Vines 3pc occasional table and it surprised me how much it can change the room aspect.
