Don't you guys and gals have Twitter or chat or something to give each other a heads up so that there aren't duplicate postings?
view feathers's profile
if you have the heads up, i wouldn't mind seeing more than a few favorite pieces...

Hahaha--thanks KTG! At first I thought they were posting about this in every city. Now I know that New York is just reeeeally excited.

the paper goods are out on an endcap at the Brooklyn store. the tissue paper is $2.49. It was just a couple of gift bags, tissue paper, address book, desk tray, that desk calendar, scrapbook kit, a couple of photo albums, a different type of calendar. Such a small display it was underwhelming. there was no vacant place in the vicinity for the serveware and baskets.
we'll see what happens when they roll the whole thing out.

Went to two Targets this morning at opening and there was no John Derian stuff to be found. And these are two major stores in the center of LA (Culver City).... very dissapointing.

I also went to two Targets this morning, a big and little store. One had some of the stationery, but no trays to be found! Very disappointing. A manager said they would be putting out the line this Tuesday or Thursday.

Bingo! Went this morning around 10 a.m. Even took pictures.
Very small end cap display but I got 2 of the butterfly/moth plates. They will be great to use in the kitchen or even hang on a wall as an artwork. There were a few more plates, trays, prints, vases, but not much else YET... This is the only Target store in the Northwest Arkansas (aka Walmart central), but I'll head back very soon.

Went to Brooklyn a little before 6pm. There were framed prints on the endcap, some were prints with paper butterflies on them. Most of the stationary goods were gone and I found a "scrap basket," basically a cardboard wastebasket with the baskets along a far wall. Nada else.
Disappointing rollout Target.

I went to one today, and still no John Derian! I also have been hounding the website, but the line's not posted yet...tear.

Until I got home and saw the above posts, I actually thought word had spread and the paltry paper goods were all that remained after the (apparently many) rabid Derian collectors had pillaged the store.
I'm completely serious. Wow, how paranoid.
Now it appears I had the same experience as LadyJ and a few others: paper goods on an end cap. This was at the Target in Pasadena(LA).

Any good word?
I'm heading to Jersey City today to scout...rushed over there on Sunday, and nothing, zip, nada...not sure I'll be able to handle the popup Bodegas this week. Maybe that's where all the Derian got siphoned to?

I'm so over this launch already....

West back to East Pasadena (LA) store today and bought green tray (pictured above in ATLA post). This one tray, plus one small round plate, one coaster set, a couple trash bins, and framed prints were all there were left on a very bare endcap. I was very pleased to have bought the tray, but would like to see the entire line...even if just on the website!

I'm just sayin'......

I think Target is updating their website for 9/14/08 as it's not in commission right now. I re-visted my local target today and they had the end-cap sign up as well as a new end-cap with the stationary/desk goods. Slight improvement, I must say!

The Derian items are _finally_ up on the Target site; you can preorder the pieces that haven't yet arrived in the stores. (They are also, hilariously, on sale on eBay for ridiculous prices!)

I saw some of the JD4Target stuff on ebay - much higher than the retail prices. For all those people who don't have Targets. Les pauvres!
