Thomas Paul Pillows are Back!

redpillows_1.jpg

While Thomas Paul pulled all their pillows last season and the world went wanting, we just heard from Thomas that they're coming back:

They will be debuting next week at the San Francisco Gift Fair, and later in August at the New York Gift Fair... Melamine plates are back too. Thomas

This doesn't mean you'll see them super soon, as they will have to get shipped to stores, but it does mean that TP's unique over-the-top colors are back and you can avoid the imitations.

Yes, does anyone know an approx. price range for these gorgeous pillows?

Woo Hoo! I love my T.Paul pillows and would really like to get some more.
I don't remember the price (sorry) - but they can't be too over the top if I could afford them.

Affordable. Last season's pillows were under $100. Check out www.velocityartanddesign.com

michelle, thanks! i don't know about affordable but not as extravagant as i thought. i really love the bird pillow at the top of this thread -- maxwell really knows how to highlight the pick of the lot.

There was a post about this last week in Jane Mag's blog (http://www.janemag.com/memos/blogs/editor). Apparently someone there has seen the new line and was "not impressed". I suppose I'll maintain an open mind & wait and see for myself.

I found similar designs at one of the stores in the garment district.

It is far economical to buy cloth and get the pillow cover stitched. for $100 one can have 20 pillow covers if one does the sewing at home.

but why did they pull their stuff off the market? that seems really weird.

Martha-Thomas Paul was more or less forced to close down operations with the distributor that was producing his pillows and melamine. They closed that entire division of the company. Thomas then had to find another supplier that could help put his designs back into production. That's why there has been the shut down/start up this year. We are so excited that he will be bringing back another wonderful collection. We just saw the line sheets for the entire pillow line and love it. We will of course be carrying everything that Thomas does with this new collection and feel if Thomas is behind it, the quality will be there. We just love his designs. I imagine they will be around same prices as before 60-120ish for his pillows and 35 for the melamine sets of dinner plates. Hope this helps!

Hurrah! More melamine. Congratulations to everyone at Thomas Paul, we are so glad you found your way back.

I don't know what that editor from Jane saw as only a few samples had been in last week, but she is quite wrong. She only saw a fraction of the new line-just the linen. I can assure all that the bright and poppy silk pillows will be back as well. Don't believe everything you read in the blogs.

I am disappointed. The new line looks just like some of the old styles. It seemed to be an extention of his Aviary and Baroque styles, personally I think it is getting a little dated. Are we not creative anymore these days? We seem to be seeing a lot more of the same old designs.

Ironic advice, on a blog!

Logan, those are only FOUR of the new patterns! It is NOT the whole new line.

Oh I love TP pillows...I have them in every available place in my apartment...The colors and patterns add the perfect splash of graphics...I can't wait!

Where can I buy the print on the wall??

For those of you that are "not impressed" or think the line is looking "a little dated" you might want to keep your opinions to yourself since you have only seen a couple of the new designs. I have seen all of them and they are fabulous.
Don't be so quick to hate.
