Visions of sugarplumbs. Our distate of plastic and Tord Boontje officially took another blow today as we discovered affection for another use of this laser-cut fabric which is EVERYWHERE.
Boontje's Until Dawn Curtain just seems to us like a lovely thing to put in a child's room, either to obscure light coming in the windows or as a purely decorative conceit.
42"x96" constructed out of Tyvek, these fasten with velcro closures at top, come in white, beige, green and red, and are super simple. Manufactured by Artecnica, it is available at Moss ($99), Unica ($91). MGR

I kind of like this in a fun, playful way. Of course, you shouldn't use too much of it. But I think it would make for a cool, and inexpensive, wall hanging.
Hey, not to be a spoil-sport about one of my favorites from among Boontje's truly inspired designs, how do these rate for fire retardancy?
would this withstand cats?
I just bought the green one and it's gorgeous. I thought it'd be made of more plastic-like paper, but, it's just a thicker paper (I'd compare it to a card stock), and to answer previous poster's questions, it's not fire retardant and cat's would just shred it to pieces, it tears relatively easily.
I'm planning on hanging it where there isn't too much foot trafic.
It's actually made out of Tyvek, which is used to cover houses to keep moisture out. It's not paper, and it is actually washable - in a bath tub! It can tear, but it can also be cut to a particular length.
Anna,
How effective would it be as a curtain? Would it be opaque enough for privacy? Thanks.
