Speaking of things growing in your sink, we came across this how-to from the Australian National Botanic Gardens website. It's a moss garden in a sink, planted with a variety of mosses.
We surmise this could be done in other vessels, not just old kitchen sinks. Could be beautiful, bringing a little landscape into your home.
I make terraria out of round glass bowls in all different sizes. They include different mosses, ferns, and succulents, plus rocks and, when I can make them look natural a la Zen, little pools. In winter you can almost smell the forest!
