Pin Frogs at Jamali Garden

0618_pin_frog2.jpg

On pins and needles. A pin frog is a home accessory that has been around for many, many years. They're used to help in arranging flowers...

0618_pin_frog.jpgAvailable at Jamali Garden on 28th Street, these pin frogs can be used in a shallow dish with a little water in the bottom. Push a few strong-stemmed flowers onto the pins and they'll look like they're freestanding from the plate. The pins sell at Jamali Garden for only a few dollars apiece.

The photo up top shows a pin frog being used in a minimalist arrangement in an Ikebana class. In this fashion, you can bring the outdoors in and with the help of a humble little pin frog, make it look really cool.photo via Flickr.

I have also found several at antique stores. I really love the weight of them and they are easy to hide in a vase with a few pebbles.
