PlantTherapy: Saturday Morning Flowers

2008-09-13smf4.jpg

This week's flowers come from Pamela who is enjoying the flowers that are in season right now. Her vase in her new remodeled bedroom looks like a portal into a nearby meadow!

We're sending a shout-out to all of you who bring home flowers to brighten up your home. Do YOU have some Sat. morning flowers to share? Let me know! You can drop a line with a small description and some pics at matt at apartment therapy dot com

"Coreopsis, sunflowers (including "black" ones!), bells of Ireland, and another flower I don't know. I like the wild "fresh out of the meadow" look here."

This is definitely time to enjoy sunflowers as they are everywhere in many shapes and forms.

De Bruyn is a seed company in Michigan. Check out some of their varieties.

I agree. That's the first time I've seen Bells of Ireland used in an arrangement - I used to just admire them in my garden.

Question: What is that large dark flower on the left in the pic?

Hi,

I'm pamela. Thank you for your comments.

oceandreamer56, the dark flower is a "black" sunflower, actually a very deep burgundy. It's missing a few petals, so it looks a little odd. :-)
