Sprout Home, with their doors wide open.
10% off on tropical plants for AT readers (thru Oct. 31). Sprout's store manager, Tassy, says they received a massive shipment of indoor tropical plants that are crowding their store. I asked her what she thought might interest our readers and she recommended the following five for apartments:
Stingray Alocasia Unique leaves resembling Stingray. Alocasia Stingray is an unusual new Alocasia from Asia. Grows to a maximum of 6. Bright light, keep moist.
Cordyline Terminalis Black Magic - Deep purple leaves with bright green new growth. Grows to 6'. Bright light. Allow top 1-2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.
Dracaena Limelight Bright, lime-green leaves, Lowlight plant. Allow top 1 inches of soil to dry out between waterings.
Selaginella Sanguinea 'Ruby Red' - A new color form of the popular Selaginella group. Indirect or filtered light. Maintain high humidity and apply a balanced liquid fertilizer monthly. Keep just moist.
Syngonanthus chrysanthus Mikado - lots of light NO DIRECT SUN, no fertilizer, always make sure soil is wet. (VERY beautiful but I know it would get too dry in my apartment)
Also:
Fall bulbs: unusual tulips, crocus, and the all-star allium bulbs.
All perennials, trees, shrubs are 50% off (except evergreens).

This store is amazing! It's worth the trip even if you don't think you need any plants. The housewares are really cute and it has a beautiful garden. Right next to Moon River Chattel too.
