PlantTherapy: Echeveria and Seashells in the Window at Banchet

2007OctoberBanchet.jpg

Spotted in a window at Banchet over in the Meatpacking District, a small arrangement that made us think of our own summer getaways...

Echeveria, a genus of blossom-shaped succulent, can survive for a long time when used like a cut flower. It makes for a nice element in this arrangement - the echeveria's frosty green works with the color and textures of the shells.

I am all for any reminder of relaxing days, wonderful occasions or vacations. Taking this concept further one could create beautiful vignettes for their own memories.

This was all at Banchet Flowers, which is at 809 Washington Street. They carry many orchids (cut and as plants) and have a beautiful space worth visiting if you are in the area.
