PlantTherapy: Ghouls and Gourds on Halloween

For those of you who faint at the sign of pumpkin innards - Mr. Potato Head Jack-O-Lanterns in the East 60's (thanks SKGR and Jasanna!)

Taking a break this weekend, but wanted to wish everyone well and quickly pass along a few Halloween links:

Gardens can be very social places. Our local botanical gardens always have seasonal events and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is celebrating Halloween with a host of activities this weekend...

You can also find a round-up of events here and here for around NYC. The event at the Cathedral of St. john the Divine is great fun (but already gone by)- it's a real treat to watch a movie with their pipe organ playing - and the ending is always incredible.

As for trick-or-treating itself, I am sure there are many great neighborhoods. But Cobble Hill might have to get my vote for overall safety, fun, and sense of community. It is truly a neighborhood event where everyone, including the family dog, gets involved.

Would love to hear how your neighborhoods celebrate Halloween!
