The oranges and purples, deep magentas and punchy greens flow together and camoflauge the sheer variety of flowers. At a quick glance I spied: gloriosa lillies, calla lillies, hydrangeas, tulips, roses, hyacinths and peonies all within these two tightly packed arrangements.
Every day countless thousands of flowers are put out in NY flowershop windows. They never will be sold and are not destined for a romantic dinner table or the hands of a blushing bride, as they are put to work attracting our eyes as we run by. These did a great job of earning their keep as they stopped me in my tracks on the way to work.

what make/model of camera do you use to take all your pics?

I use a Leica D-Lux 2 - but Panasonic makes a version of this camera at a much better price point. I chose it because it is very compact and has good image quality in daylight situations. I bring it with me everywhere! And now Leica and Panasonic have come out with newer versions of their compact models. My older posts were done with a Leica Digilux, which was a very enjoyable camera as well.

Gorgeous! And a real pick-me-up out here in the Portland area where it is raining today (but luckily we have gorgeous flowers right now too).
We bought that Panasomic camera yesterday at Costco. We are planning to take it out today and take some pictures of the planted urns around town. We were looking for a camera to keep in my purse that took great pictures and I think this will be perfect.
