"Hey there,
For a change of pace I put together a small arrangement of pitcher plants, Venus fly traps, and Irish moss instead of cut flowers and placed them inside a chunk of split timber bamboo."

Justine sent this photo of Ranunculus she bought at the grocery store - so nice she ended up buying two bunches. We agree, these are really nice, the color is delicate, reminds us of roses. Johnny bought plants, so with a bit of luck (and plenty of sun and water) he'll have his for some time. And what can we say about Tracy's peonies? It's finally the time to get them locally, and we can't get enough of them.

It's not Memorial Day without peonies. If you grab them from the garden, watch out for ants!

Those ranunculus are a beautiful color, but I don't prefer that flower. Their slimy, limp stems and greenery freak me out.

I love the planter on the table -- what a beautiful setting! But the Venus Flytraps freak! me! out! I wouldn't be able to concentrate on the wonderful food for fear that they would want to snap me up.

Love the flytraps arrangement. More interesting than the usual flower arrangement. The meal looks scrumptious, too.

love the planter -- did you paint it silver, or did you find it that way? (and did you add the feet?)
