Just back from Myanmar
(Burma), I've been catching up on the See
My Artwork! contest entries during the long nights of jet lag-induced insomnia.
Next week I'll share some images of apartment living, Rangoon-style, but this
week I thought I'd stay close to home.
By virtue of getting to live with an artist, the painter and illustrator Erica Harris, I get to live with a lot of art as well. In concession to my modernist aesthetic, our bedroom and living room are pretty spare, but we splash out a bit more in the den, mixing Erica's "pocket collages" with mounted vintage gameboards and art by Kelly Lynn Jones, Amy Ruppel, and others. Franklin the cat, who's a real piece of work himself, seems to like it.

Illegal use of pet distraction! :) Cute cat. Looks like a fun space, too..but I wish I could get a better perspective on it and see some of the art closer up.

Yes, it would be nice to see the art closer up. Also, contrarywise, I would like to see how it works in the space too. I like what I see in the photos, just don't have a full picture from them.

Nice living room! Do you actually use the IKEA LACK shelf for seating? I've been contemplating doing the same with my black LACK shelf, but worry it will collapse if used for seating.
Don't you think that sometimes some writers are extremely sneaky or peeky or disgustingly curious about what is the in the living room , asking to put more pictures.
The more "americans" say they want privacy the more they become itchy bitchy, rumour mongers.
Now wonder they feel threatened and threaten others.
I really like the bold gray wall! Your apartment looks like a fun -- and interesting -- place to live. I particularly like the pieces in unexpected places.
