On lazy Sundays, there's nothing better than curling
up* with a good book. But for getting through the
rest of the days, often it's not whole books we turn to, but single lines of
inspiration, calls to action, or simply commiseration from which we draw power
or peace.
The folks over at Poets.org
call these Life
Lines, and it's a real treat to see the lines that matter most to folks
and to read brief stories about the situations that summon those lines to mind.
What lines matter most to you? What if you wrote them down someplace handy,
and then donated the books your 'power lines' are found in so that somebody
else could get the buzz?
Find donation drops near you at the NYC
Stuff Exchange. And when you're ready to let more books into your home,
check out BetterWorldBooks.com,
an online shop that sells used books at a fair price, offers Carbonfree™
Shipping, and uses the proceeds to fund great projects like Room
to Read.
*And don't forget to take the Apartment
Therapy DonorsChoose Challenge to give somebody else a place to curl up
too.

Am I the only person who's dying to know who is deeply moved and inspired by the highlighted line, "Lord, the pleebs and their lavatory colours"?

Read books on Sunday. On other days, read single "power" lines. To obtain power lines, keep track as you read books. Donate the books. Give other people a buzz from your power lines. In return, obtain other books with other power lines. Achieve this by utlizing several Web sites. Take the AT Donors Choose Challenge.

Looks like all of Pam's lines are highlighted, so this must be the script of the actress playing Pam.
Here is my favorite life line, addressed to God: "what reason can you give me now for filling half of every thing with honey just to leave the half remaining torn from even hope for sweetness" from Maurice Manning's "Bucolics."
