Meditation: On Parties

2005_12_9sgh.jpg

Because every party comes with a morning after....from Beat poet Diane di Prima comes this:

No Problem Party Poem

first glass broken on patio no problem
forgotten sour cream for vegetables no problem
Lewis MacAdam's tough lower jaw no problem
cops arriving to watch bellydancer no problem
plastic bags of melted ice no problem
wine on antique tablecloth no problem
scratchy stereo no problem
neighbor's dog no problem
interviewer from Berkley Barb no problem
absence of more beer no problem...

(full poem)

Hey, sorry for the repeat post, but I was so excited to find the Annie Prouxl story, "Brokeback Mountain" on the New Yorker site (link is near the top of the page):

What is it about Saturday mornings? I meant to say, the Annie Proulx story that the movie Brokeback Mountain is based on.
