apartment therapy changing the world, one room at a time

Interiors on ABC's Brothers and Sisters

Speaking of television, we've just realized we love the interiors on ABC's drama Brothers and Sisters. Three in particular: the family's traditional home, the mistress' modern house, and the daughter's arts-and-crafts bungalow...

Our favorite space of them all on Brothers and Sisters is the kitchen in the traditional Walker family home. We love the soft green subway tiles, white-painted cabinetry and woven grass wallcovering. The room looks so bright and spacious. What's your favorite Brothers and Sisters interior?

This is an AWFUL show. Yet another show about a bunch of good-looking skinny rich white people whining on about their pathetic lives. Boo-freaking-hoo.

My favorite room is Kevin's apartment. I actually got in touch with the set designer to find out where a set of lamps were purchased from!

The actor in the first pic, Luke, just came by over the weekend and bought two mid-century danish modern teak chairs from us on Craigslist. I've never watched the show. Weird coincidence that him and his show are up on apartmenttherapy for it's interior design.

I am more enamored by the costumes than the sets...and oddly enough, abc.com has a site dedicated to the clothes worn by the actors - they've got pretty much all of the characters covered and links to buy the same stuff!

I also indulge in the show as a guilty pleasure because even though it's hardly realistic (huge rich wine lovin' family, all "good-looking and skinny"), I can actually relate to the whole "big family can't get together for dinner without everyone talking over each other and arguing all at once" because it reminds me of my own family ;)

I love the house exterior. The entrance foyer is also fabulous! This is a great Sunday evening show with a sense of humor.

The mistress' modern house- my fave. I would love to see a tour of it, it gives the impression of being an actual bohemian modern home. it looks like true mash up, which is more doable for me than a minimalist modern.

i'd like to see some details of the interiors on gossip girl. the writing & acting is crap, but the fashion & design is great. my fav is the "humphrey loft", an amazing artsy place that the "poor family" lives in.

I love this program, I find it hilariously refreshing. How funny, that on Sunday I caught up on a missed episode and was wondering exactly what color were the tiles and if they were Daltiles. Those tiles are oh so high-gloss, but I'd never think they were green.

I must confess to loving most of the sets on Ugly Betty including Betty's family's crazy 70s-mexican-kitchy Queens home :)

This is what Apartmenttherapy has done to me.

I wonder how this show would translate to another ethnicity- black, hispanic, japanese...unfortunately any of these choices would carry so much 'stereotype baggage' that the show would probably not have the same viewership... although I could be wrong, and I would Love to be wrong!!!( this time)

I love this drama, and really love the daughter's arts-and-crafts bungalow.

LOL. I don't usually agree with hejiranyc, but that was funny. It reminds me of the MAD TV skit called "pretty white kids." White, black, yellow or whatever, I hate shows like that and I don't see what's so great about the interior design from those pics.
