We enjoy Adult Swim's hilarious cartoon The Venture Brothers, so we were thrilled when reader Dave sent in visual proof of the show's coolness:
In addition to being incredibly funny, Cartoon Network's show "The Venture Brothers" features many great nods to mid-century design. The show recently began it's third season and already there have been cameo appearances by some well-known chairs. Clearly the guys running the show have a thing for chair design. Here's some screen grabs from the show's four latest episodes:...

Doc Hammer and Jackson Publik's design sense so great. I love the show! Everytime I see a Le Corbusier chair or a Mondrian-eque window I realize how much detail they put into everything and how cool it all is.

The Incredibles also had nice MCM-inspired furniture :)

This show is super funny by the way.
Great send-up for 60's action/sci-fi/fantasy cartoons.

That first chair is heavily inspired by a Hans Wegner Ox chair, too. Check out Modernica's site to see what I mean.

This show is FANTASTIC! It's the only show on TV that can make me pee in my pants and somehow convince me that's a good thing.

I was wondering when Apartment Therapy would get around to doing an article on this show. These guys know style as well as they know funny!

This is the first time I have actually gotten my daughter interested in home style with me, finding this gem of a blog! I love style, she loves that cartoon. She walked by as I was reading this and saw the VB cels on the screen. We actually had a multi-sentence conversation about both subjects! Woot! I love this website!

First one looks like the oxchair lounge chair with a different type of base... http://www.architonic.com/1003161

Yeah, first one is clearly pulling from the Ox.
I'm so glad this was posted. I was thrilled when I saw "the Nozzle" scene (with the LC4) in it last week.

hard to say which I love more: their attention to visual details, or the attention paid to cultural details (Klaus Nomi?! Stiv Bators and Lydia Lunch at Danceteria?!).
It's like little treats thrown to those of us paying extra attention to "cartoons."
