Welcome to Jill!

We are big on color when it comes to art. The walls of our rented
apartment are all white, so the art helps to bring the space to life.

We have a mix of things given to us by family and friends, things
from yard sales and concerts, and a wall of photos from our travels...

On the large wall in the dining room we've hung canvases covered in 50s wallpaper that I bought in Brighton, England. The wall above our short bookcase is left blank because we watch tv from a projector in that space.

Thanks, A.T.! - Jill B.

Looks lovely. Am I right in guessing that a lot of those are Nielsen Bainbridge frames? My wife and I have about a dozen of those in our apartment - great value for the money, and AI Friedman often has them at 50% off list.

loveit - I really like Nielsen Bainbridge frames too. I have seen good prices on them at Sam Flax, but will check them out at AI Friedman - thanks for the tip! No matter what you put in them (I especially love the off-centered or weighted mats) whether it is an old picture or a flea market or cheap Etsy find it feels important.

What a cool and unexpected mix. Looks like some people who love life live here. The giant Bally poster is great!

The big "Bally" poster is by French poster artist Bernard Villemot, who worked during the 1950s–1970s. Here are some reprints of his posters for sale:

And here are some of his vintage posters (at a higher price, of course):

Yes, the frames are Nielsen Bainbridge. I've tried other styles of frames in the past, but find that these do the most justice to the art that's framed.

Thanks for all of the kind words about our place!
