Welcome to Kelly!

I don't know if what we did to our bathroom would appeal to everyone, but we really like unique design elements and incorporated many into our bathroom. We live in an old place which is restored but still quite "period" and this little room was a former dressing room...

We did not want to make the bathroom too modern, so we used earthy colors with oil rubbed bronze and copper fixtures.

My two favorite elements are the counter top for the vessel sink and the mosaic tile floor in the shower. The shower mosaic was handmade in Lebanon purchased from www.mosaicmarble.com, and cost only a little over $500 including shipping. The countertop under the vessel sink was custom made by me and my husband! Really! And we are SO not artistic by any means so believe me when I say it was easy.

We simply had our contractor measure out a piece of wood and I got bags and bags of scraps of stained glass and, like a puzzle, we glued it on, grouted it, and volia! Custom counter top! It was indeed time consuming, but I think adds a lot to our bathroom and certainly more than the standard white ceramic top that came with the sink base would have.

I can certainly take and send better pictures if you need them. These were taken right after construction, and we have accessorized the bathroom since then.

Very nice but I would put down some floor mats asap. Slip + fall = :(

Ha! We TOTALLY got a little nauseous when we realized that the granite IS in the Trump Tower atrium! The pictures were taken right after construction was finishing, so we have accessoriezed since then (with floormats!). Mirror is from Bombay.

Your hard work paid off! The mosaic adds so much character and pizazz...

while it's not my personal flava (oh, i'm such a brushed stainless girl), the space shows that you put a lot of energy, effort, and care into the room! very yum :)

I ABSOLUTELY love the mosaic tile countertop!! So FAB! You guys did a great job. I also love the copper hardware! :-)

I really like this, although, like kd, it's not my style. It looks antique and modern at the same time. The vessel sink and vanity are so cool, as is the mosaic on the shower floor. Congratulations on a beautiful redo.

Oh, please don't sell your work short because you don't think it will be to other people's taste. It's your bathroom! Are those copper towel racks? Beautiful.

I am the contractor that renovated this bathroom and I can honestly say that the owners choice of materials is what makes this so special. Not only do they have great taste with a natural flare for design, but they are both wonderful fun people and it was my pleasure to work with them on this project. I am currently renovating their kitchen and hoping it becomes a featured space as well.
If anyone has any questions regarding this renovation please dont hesitate to email me at UnderConstruction@gmail.com

Thank you

I really dislike this bathroom. The colors are horrendous. It feels like being in a really poorly designed Las Vegas hotel bathroom. It's much too dark. Bathrooms are tiny. Using dark colors makes them feel even smaller. Doesn't make sense to me. The shower floor tile patterns is very nice though. I'll give you that.

With all the dark earth tones, the white toilet seems to stick out like a sore thumb. Then again, I don't know if going with colored porcelain would be a good choice.

Ooooh! A bathroom that's not Spa White!

While I'm not a marble girl, I adore your use of copper fixtures and a dramatic mirror. You have some features that may put you out ahead of the trend, and it's certainly individual.

I think a black toilet would have fit in better.

I agree with the contractor that the home owners have chosen an excellent combination of colors and materials. The room is exciting rather than a boring basic bathroom. One personal observation is the contractors' attention to detail. You can have the greatest of ideas but bad workmanship will ruin it. Kudo's to Robert Smith as well as the homeowners.

Looks like it feels very coherent, warm and inviting. Thank you for sending - its great to see something that is stylish and not standard.

Ignore the flame baits :-)
