Welcome to Jennie!

Last year, I moved from a one-room studio apartment (ie: no real "bedroom")to my current 2-bedroom bi-level high rise. Being able to actually retreat to a quiet, uncluttered bedroom at night is the best thing in the world...maybe I just appreciate it more from my lack of a bedroom in my previous living space.

To keep the room serene, the wall behind the bed is painted a pale
ballet-slipper pink, and the furniture has clean lines. My favorite pieces are the little green lamps next to the bed. I like them because they seem a bit out of place...but make sense to me in the space. The paintings above the bed are dramatic and eye-catching...just enough to add a little excitement.

Enjoy!

I know what you mean by the little pop of green, I think it's great with the pink colour. If you really want to play with that green colour more I think some kind of white/green printed duvet cover would look amazing, maybe with a dash of chocolate brown.

Enjoy your space, you deserve it after being squashed in a studio!

I really like the headboard/nightstand/magazine rack. Is that something you did yourself or bought somewhere?

I could be wrong, but haven't we seen this bedroom before?

No, you are right. It was posted earlier. I thought the same thing and looked at the list. :)

It's lovely and I really like the paintings but...the vertical blinds on the window have to go. Will your landlord allow you to replace them with some curtains?

I would love some curtains on that window....but it looks very peaceful, totally my taste.

The bed and pillows are both from IKEA.

you should really make a cover to hide that radiator! get a great print and make one - try searching it via HGTV. i know i read it in a magazine somewhere but i cant remember.
and i agree. some fabulous curtains would perfect the room!

Sorry about that folks. I've been out sick all day and Justine didn't remember the earlier post. IT's still a beaut, however.

Symmetry! Air! Scale! Great!

Vertical blinds? oy.

I love the simplicity of it all. I have the same Malm bed and have thought about getting those bedside tables too.

keisha and jenni--

do you like the malm bed? How long have you had it? Do you sleep with partners? In short, is it decent enough quality to last maybe 4-5 years with no dis-assembly and moderate use?

I'm really trying to find out whether or not I should spent the extra money for a nicer bed, but nothing comes close to the design of malm.

nice bedroom, by the way. Beautiful pink.

Hi all -

I hadn't realized that it got posted again (which is an okay mistake as far as I'm concerned :) so i apologize for not addressing the questions sooner.

Yes - pillow and bed are from IKEA as stated above. The vertical blinds, along with the radiator - definitely eye-sores...resolving said Design-Tradegy now on my "to-do" list....

Erin - I really like the bed. I've only had for a little over a year now, but I'm not disappointed...and when it is shared, there are no complaints either...I think it will last for the duration you are looking for.

Eric - the paintings are my own. My current websites do not feature my paintings, but if anyone is interested in seeing more - shoot me an email and I'd be happy to send out my gallery .pdf.

Thanks again all for the kind words.

best,
jennie
