Welcome to Tyson!

Here are a few snap shot of my little bedroom. It is very small with no window, but very cosy at the same time. I picked darker color to warm it up and mirror closet doors to make it look larger. Sheet and cover match it the walls perfectly and I use plenty of different lighting with dimmers to add extra atmosphere. If I could I would stay in my bed all day on a cold winter day!

It's very nice - though I would think that the great glass door makes a more than adequate substitute for a window! I am especially fond of all of your spiritual photographs.

Is it Bob Cousy? /snark

OK, please, you MUST tell us: What is that luscious caramel-colored wall paint? Brand? Name of color? Finish? Thanks.

i like the colors and photos too, but is there something vaguely porno-set about the lighting? anybody? anybody?

Yep, agree on the porno-set feel especially with the closet mirrors! As a girl, I wouldn't have it in my room, but I wouldn't mind staying over.

Great lamp.

I agree, it would not be very relaxing to have a spotlight shining in your face while lying in bed with a book. But I love the color and textures of your room. The photos are beautiful.

The gigantic mirror (closet doors?) remind me of American Psycho.

Thanks for your comments, as for the colour: I paint it couple of years ago and the name for it was "Spanish Leather" but I don't remember by who at this point. It's very much like caramel.

isn't that a window on the left side of the bed?

Actually no - these are glass solarium doors...

You say "porno set lighting" like it's a bad thing.

I just don't think I could "do it" being watched over by stereo Dali Lamas... but anywho...

LOVE the idea of sheets and wall color matching. The perfect space-expanding "envelope." Mmmmmm. Let it snow!!!

A truly lovely job. Doing your own space is the most difficult. You've edited to perfection. And to those making snarky comments about "porno lighting", let's see some pics of YOUR bedroom. This is someone's HOME. This isn't a movie set or a page from a magazine layout. I also liked how you incorporated what looks like a bunch of senitmental travel shots in a very cohesive way. I've been looking for a nice way to display my travel shots. I think I'll "steal" this idea!

I love the warmth the walls present for the room. The centering of the photos in a non traditional format is fantastic. I have never seen them presented in such a way. The plant adds to the atmosphere and I love the mirrored closet. I'd be very comfortable in the room.

I adore the color and that great glass table with the lamp... perfect!
Between the lighting and the mirrors, it DOES have a little bit of a porn quality... but I am of the opinion that that is a good thing in a bedroom :)

I love your bedding! It looks really soft and comfortable. Can I ask where you got it? I can see how cozy it would be especially in the winter time.

Believe it or not but I picked up the bedding (both sheets and duvet cover set) at the Sam's Club some time last year.

Where did you get the long picture frames?

posted by Picard102 on 2007-02-11 22:21:45

To me, the wires of the hanging lights ruin the clean lines of the rest of the room.

I also feel uneasy about the twin portraits of the Dali Lama because they turn the wall of photographs into a shrine-like display. (that's just me. am not a fan of idolizing icons, even a popular and much venerated world figure such as His Holiness).

Tyson, I do like your caramel wall color and matching duvet/pillow set though.

Wow, it's so cozy. I would never want to get up! I love the color and the lighting.
