Mimi Antiqued Mirrored Chest

Mirrored Character. Browsing the new offerings from Crate & Barrel, this Mimi Antiqued Mirrored Chest jumped out as something quite different from the retailer's usual offerings. An antiqued look isn't something we usually go for add mirrored doors and drawers and it's even odder that we're drawn to this. It must have something to do with the odd proportions. It is a rather unusual size at 31.5 inches tall....

We think this is an interesting piece for $899. The sizing is a bit bizarre almost too big for a bedside/occassional table, but smallish for a standalone piece (making it an excellent size for small spaces). In the right small space, it could do wonders for an entry and do double-duty by offering a lot of hidden storage.

it's definitely weird and incongruous, in a not so great way. i like the overall shape (particularly from the side), but the mirrors are just bad, as is the very rigid, geometric drawer set-up in contrast to the curvy bottom detailing. too many mismatched styles in one. not for me, especially at almost $1,000!

Kind of odd. I'll give you that.

I like it, I just wish the mirrors had a bevel or something to soften them a bit. But I do like the shape and size of it.

Honestly? I think it's fug and weirdly proportioned. And for that price, double fug.

I could like it as a small buffet, maybe with with shelves above. A bevel on the mirrors would be an improvement, though, and I think maybe an arched top on the two tall doors.

I wouldn't pay nine hundred for this one, though.

the parts don't look like they've pulled into an appealing whole.

I just saw something like this at Z Gallerie which is -if possible-stranger. Its mirrors with some sort of bamboo or textured wood. My eyes were strangely drawn to it- though I would never buy it.

Oh my Trumystique. Is this what you saw? It is truly bizarre!

Saw that one and could look away. But thats not what I am talking about. Imagine a bamboo-y credenza from Pier 1 and then put mirrors on it. I just checked Z Gallerie's website and I couldnt find it.
