(This is a new column experiment. In an effort to help apartment owners who are looking to sell without a broker and to show off cool apartments to readers looking for them, we are posting good ones that we stumble upon. Readers are welcome to submit as well to editor@apartmenttherapy.com and put "4 Sale by Owner" in the subject line.)

Location: 29 Tiffany Street, Bklyn (nr. Cobble Hill)
Size: 859 sq/ft
Price: $599k
Contact: Travis - 917.648.4681
Website: 29tiffany6L.com
Pitch: Rated by Wallpaper Magazine as one of the coolest neighborhoods in New York, the Columbia Waterfront District is located west of Cobble Hill facing New York Harbor. Our building - which was recently converted from a factory into loft apartments - is located on Tiffany Place, a quiet cobblestone street with close proximity to some of the area's finest restaurants, boutique shops, and subways. It is also three blocks from the acclaimed PS 29, one of Brooklyn's finest elementary schools.

A lot of cool stuff on the site today, including this.
This apartment has already gotten more publicity than any other apartment ever. Check out curbed.com and yesterday's NY Times real estate section.
Pixie -
Can you tell me what airlines frequent flyer plan you where able to buy dwell with?
Thanks- Jon
Milk it, Travis!
I am so tired of these people already!
Is all their free publicity on Curbed not enough?
Read the comments on their latest post there. I totally agree with the people that say they should have not published their FSBO saga until after it was finished. Compromises the whole idea really.
They should change it to "FSBB" - for sale by blog.
Whether this one specific apartment is over-exposed, I wholeheartedly welcome this new feature.
I think this is one of the best new features that has been released...Keep it up, and hopefully this will become the place to find unique "fsbo" habitats.
officially over these guys
can someone fill me in on what's going on? I didn't see the other listings and don't know what the FBSO saga is.
Hi Guys:
For those of you who didn't know, Lockhart Steele (editor of Curbed.com) followed my wife and me as we embarked on our first ever For Sale By Owner experience. Here's the inaugural entry.

The story seems to have sparked quite a bit of discussion regarding FSBO versus the traditional brokerage system. You can read more about it after the link!
that link is from Dec 2nd. can you bring us up to speed? did you get any offers?
Your website 29tiffany6l.com is soooo great! What a great idea, considering how many real estate sites are horrible.
Not a very child-friendly livingroom. It looks like the room you sit them in before a smallpox shot.
John,
I got the Dwell subscription (a 2 year subscription, so far) through a USAirways offer to use miles for subscriptions. It's through something called Star Alliance network. I got a form in the mail with the offer. The number on the form is 1-800-586-9632. Hope you're able to get it. What a deal.
Hi 'Okay...but.'
Thanks for your interest in our place! It's been a fun ride, for sure. We'll write a full-blown story (on Curbed) once we close, but at this point, we've had a couple of good open houses (one last weekend and one yesterday). We have a handful of people interested in the place and hope to have everything figured out by this weekend.
I like the idea of AT (or someplace online) providing a venue for 'For Sale By Owner" people like us. I'm definitely not advoacting and end to the broker system, but I think having an alternate venue (that's FSBO only) would be nice.
And regarding Marie's comment above: believe me---it'll be a while before we want to sell a place again. It's so much work! Sorry to any of your who feel overexposed to our apartment site. Feel free to ignore it from here on out!
Thanks to everyone who's been cheering us on. It means a lot!
once you close? that won't be for months, right?
How long has this place been on the market?
Hey Patrick:
We started publicizing the place right after Thanksgiving. The Curbed story went up 12/2 and we advertised in the Times on 12/4. So it's been 'on the market' a little over two weeks.
travis-- please take the time to give us the low down on curbed after this is all over... it's annoying to be teased.. but good luck anyway!

THIS IS FUCKIN' RED HOOK. WHY LIE?
The site feels a little precious to me. A seasoned buyer, I think, would value effeiciency and honesty-- no need for the airy music and the syrupy-slow dissolves, just show us the place. And yes, in the end, all the puffery does not disguise that it is in Red Hook overlooking the BQE...
Re asdf:
According to the City of New York, it's called the Columbia Street District and is often referred to as the Columbia Street Waterfront:

By the way, I love Red Hook!
Photos are lovely but deceptive as hell. Scale is always distorted in pictures and one should not be tricked in to believing that the size of a room is accurately portrayed. For all the hype, These are boxy rooms with furniture placed against the walls. I'm sure if you showed up in person you would feel "tricked". Hype is seductive.
Red Hook is cool.........if you have a driver at your disposal.
Andrew: Sorry you think you might be 'tricked' by the photos. Our site lists room dimensions and total square footage (floor plan section).
Why is there always so much vulgar hostility, which is not only misplaced, but oh so unnecessary?
if you are looking for another option beside traditional agents or even FSBO read below:
I sold my place in L.A with Help-U-Sell Real Estate. If you are looking to save thousands on commissions then give them a try.
They offer Full Service for a heck of a lot less without sacrificing service.
Why pay high priced commissions!!
I sold through them and saved $$$ in commissions.
I interviewed traditional agents as well and they told me bad things about Help U Sell. I could tell they were making it up and lying to me. I was so turned off by their lies that I called up Help U Sell and listed with them.
I would recommend them to anyone.
www.helpusell.com/hollywoodhomes
www.helpusell.com
http://www.fsbo.com/ works too
I would live in that one. Definetely I like it)
http://fsbo-101.com
I used Helpusellaward.com in San Diego and I saved a lot. I would recommend Help U Sell. Contact them at www.Helpusellaward.com.
I just came across a very interesting article about a new company for selling property on your own. Here is the article:
IDAHO FALLS, Idaho, -- emongoo.com, an online real estate website, announced today that their listing service will be provided free of charge. A recent report by Alexa.com showed an increase in emongoos reach per millions of users by 4,900% over the past three months. This has made emongoo.com one of the fastest growing real estate websites on the internet and an unequivocal favorite among do-it-yourself homeowners and prospective buyers.
The site is free to both sellers and buyers, so it has never been easier to list your property and sell it. We found it essential to offer our most basic service for free, said CEO Wes Morgenegg, so that everyone could enjoy emongoo.com.
Morgenegg was quick to tell why emongoo.com was different from other for-sale-by-owner or FSBO sites, Most free FSBO sites are lead generators for mortgage or real estate companies, but emongoo is not. We are a 100% free advertising service for FSBO all across the US. Our goal is sell properties, not people.
The site is not only free, but receives quite a bit of traffic. CTO Kelly Jensen attributes this to the sites design, The site needed to be easy to navigate, those that traffic our site can be anywhere from 15-95-years-old, so we knew it had to be simple and intuitive. A simplicity which is driving prospective buyers and sellers to the site by the millions.
One of the sites users in Salt Lake City, Utah said, "I have had a good experience dealing with emongoo. I think the concept of emongoo makes sense. We sold our home on our own, thanks to the help and advertising of emongoo." She joins other users who are saying emongoo.com is making selling your house so simple. Another user from Phoenix, Arizona said I sold my home using emongoo.com in less than 15 days! It was the easiest online system I have ever used."
And so emongoo.com rolls on, now offering properties in 47 states and 8 Canadian provinces.
