Bold Color in a Budapest Apartment
The New York Times 2.11.09

budapest-apt-1.jpgTake a peek at this two bedroom apartment for sale in Budapest, Hungary. Listed in The New York Times' s international real estate section, the 1,658 square feet, third floor apartment features a terrace, views of the Danube River and some bold interior color choices...

The exterior photo shows a dull gray winter day — which may help explain the choice in bold colors, inside. Listed at €635,000 ($823,000), the building's common charge is only the equivalent of $61 a month and there are no property taxes.

If I was going to live in Hungary, I'd sure rent it.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I had the money. My family left Budapest in the early 1900s, though some members were still left...we don't know about anyone still after WW2.

But it would be great to move back 'home'.
