Tough choice. Love the non-lawn of what I imagine is the Taos house.

Because i tend to live and hang out in places much like the palm springs mid century retreat, it would be fun to escape to the the turn of the century savannah home, plus it would give me an excuse to pack ascots!!

this is weird-

I live in Savannah now, was born here but grew up in Atlanta.

That house in the picture, my parents owned that house in the 70s, its the house i was born into. Crazy.

on another note-

they bought it for 30 something in '76 (i think) sold it for 70 something in like '79. I called when I saw it was for sale a couple of years ago, somewhere around 2 mil now if i remember correctly.

Medusa--

It's a cute house - bit it needs more color and character. Every bed should have a nightstand and lamp on both sides and the electrical cord monster in the music room need to be dealt with.

Parishnut--

Again - Cute house and a great pool area (replace the photo with one that shows the umbrella open - not closed) but the interiors need more much color and character.

Every room needs color on the walls.

The dining area with the cheap white furniture and shiny white vinyl tablecloth isn't doing you any favors - and the frilly chandelier is out of character with the rest of the room - Put it in a bathroom or bedroom instead...

The Living Room needs a colorful rug, pillows and artwork - and get rid of the brass fireplace fan.

The family room needs the sofas pulled away from the walls, the monster TV blocking the window needs a new home and the rug from the dining area should be here instead of that tiny bathmat under the coffee table. (What were you thinking???)

...and nothing says "The party's over" like that giant empty winerack in your drab bar area. Get rid of it.

And where are your bedroom photos? With no photos, I'd assume they're as drab as the rest of the place.

Your ad may say "Luxury" - but your property sure doesn't.

OMG! It's my favorite place in Taos, NM! I'm somewhere between angry and thrilled that my vacation secret made the NYT. Richard Sperra iis a delight of a host who knows the the town like the back of his hand and is always prepared to share his roster of restaurants and entertainment. Spend a week in Taos and you will know why Julia lives in this beautiful town. Amazing Restaurants, Shopping, People. Sophisticated yet unpretentious.

I have stayed in that Savannnah rental; it's quite nice. A lot of the houses here in the historic district are furnished in a similar fashion.
