Eye-Candy: Marcus Nispel's SoHo Loft

According to LoftLife, this former Con-Edison buidling in SoHo is now the home of horror movie director Marcus Nispel and his family. Talk about a lot of space! Be certain to check out the mile-high bookshelves and indoor pool!

*sigh* I try not to covet things I don't own (and will never own) but this one is too tempting.

I can't imagine anyone in New York having room for a private pool. Jebus.

Why, with all that space, would they push all of the living room furniture up against the wall? Is Mr. Nispel practicing for a turn on "Dancing With the Stars?"

Eye candy indeed. Wow that was really nice. I even like their furniture choices. The kitchen is a bit dark but I could live with that!

I like the spare furnishings and restrained palette. But the sheer size and indoor pool are excessive to me, especially during these economic hard times.

What was the dude supposed to do, pack up his family and get a smaller place when the market crashed? Wouldn't that pretty much be worst-case scenario for New York, if all the rich people decided that spending money was a bad thing and just moved to small houses in the burbs. Manhattan would turn into a ghost town.

The only thing I like is the indoor pool. How the hell do you get the books down? Why have such a high bookshelf? Silly.

So even though the guy is a gazillionaire, he should not have an indoor pool because other people are out of work? There's something faulty (or mean-spirited) in that thinking.

Yum. I am a film director and this is inspiring me (-: ! Don't hate on him for owning this lovely place, he worked his ass off in a high risk field to get it.

Loft space rocks, I love the use of the entire wall with books, I'm planning a project for an entire wall with the sliding ladder against the wall. I have seen the shelves done is great colors like yellow to give that pop of color and also in very vintage-esque style.
