Long Island Modern Home by Berg Design Architects

The modern design of this new home in East Hampton, Long Island was inspired by old barns and environmentally sustainable building practices.

In addition to careful site selection to maximize natural light, architects from Berg Design used SIPs as structural support, radiant flooring and dual-paned glazed windows to maxmize energy effifcieny. Also "green" — the home's saline pool!

You can see more of this Old Stone Highway home, including architectural drawings at Berg Design.

No surprise that it was built in East Hampton, land is scarce and money is king!

Great inspiration and love the open feel. A very "neat" glimpse of the future.

I think the Dining Chairs and accent chairs should be tossed. They're a terrible distraction. The rest of the furniture isn't bad though. The couch The dining and Coffee tables, They can stay... In my opinion.

It is nice to see a modern house built in the Hamptons, since the only new construction over the last decade has been faux traditional clapboards. This huse looks inspired by the great Hampton houses of the 60's and 70's by Gwathmy, Meier, and a host of local stars.

This will make a nice hideaway for Wall St. criminals.

Hence the cinder blocks: form reveals function.
