Modern & Green: A Country House in France
ArchDaily

Check out this modern home in south western France by Meld Architecture — the timber and limestone exterior responds directly to the local terrain where it was sourced and the home has many green elements including: "solar thermal panels for domestic hot water, rainwater harvesting, and a green roof"...

Aesthetically, we love the chip-board interior walls and bursts of neon color! You can see construction photos on the Meld Architecture site.

Check out all the pics and plans at ArchDaily: Petit Bayle / Meld Architecture.

I'm not real fond of chip board. In a picture it looks doable, but up close it really doesn't look all that magical.

bailey // thinking the same thing. it was a fad here in sf for a while... age isn't kind to it. i'm all for letting the natural beauty shine through, but it doesn't work in this case, imho.

I agree - Hating the OSB interior.
Plaster would be far more attractive, and a "Greener" material.

Agree about the chipboard. I love the design of the house, though.

Hey, if you're going to go for chipboard chic, why not take it to a whole nutha level and pegboard the living sh!t out of your house? Like Martha on speed!

Having spent a few summers in the south of France, I must admit I would stay in ANY house there; i would probably not even notice the chipboard. I'll eat from chipboard plates and wear chipboard underwear if that's what it takes.

am totally with wally3 on that! I would stay in anything for some time in the south of france....chipboard......what, oh yeah, who cares...pass the cheese board. Actually I really like the dark shelving and yellow splashback against the light wood.
