This home in Warsaw, Poland by the firm Marek Rytych Architekt marries very industrial elements — concrete, sheet metal, wood, and brick — and creates a modern living space that uses these materials in appropriate scale and intensity for a residence...
Though the building appears to be very boxy from the zinc and brick exterior, the interior includes large open space and smaller, private rooms that create a comfortable flow — nothing pictured here is overwhelming.
I'm fond of the marriage of indoor and outdoor spaces (helped by large windows) and the creative use of the home's site and grade. Multiple terraces and balconies help take an industrial edge off of the building. The large metal lattice work and building tattoo (the home is owned by contemporary art collectors) add even more personality to the home.
The architecture firm, Marek Rytych Architekt, is known for their industrial buildings and this home demonstrates they have a talent for residences, too! Check out more photos, plans and elevations at ArchDaily | Open-air sculpture / MRA.

This is much more interesting than the soulless "Dwell Home" boxes we see here. The variety of materials is interesting and I love the little details like the staircase and the peek-a-boo view of the lower stairs.
I never know why people put all -modern furniture in modern houses--that is so bland and characterless, like putting only antiques in an antique house. Modern furniture goes better in old houses, and a mix of old and new works best in modern houses. It is pretty basic.
