Peter Aaron's Hudson Valley House
The New York Times

The New York Times shows us the Hudson Valley weekend home of architectural photographer Peter Aaron and his wife, Brooke Allen. The family recently completed a kitchen renovation in their 1858 Italianate house...

Peter Aaron is used to photographing over-the-top high end buildings and homes of the world's starchitects and clients, but he had to approach his own home design with a much more reasonable budget (though he admits it was difficult and he still spent too much!)

Check out the story and many more pictures from The New York Times: A Portraitist of Homes Remakes His Own and the audio slideshow.

LOVE all the light coming in in the first picture. I want that in my kitchen.

Why do those people look so terribly unhappy?

The family pose was incredibly weird. Why is the daughter passed out?

I did love the door that the husband scraped off though.

Love the house, but is the "mother figure" in the fourth photo a mannequin?

This family doesn't look near as excited about living in this great house as I would be. Life is unfair.

i think the family picture was 'posed', you know, staged to create a an artistic look - look the old family portrait oil paintings by the masters. but yeah, unfortunate
