This concept for a cantilevered house on water is from architects Jedrzej Lewandowski and Lukasz Skirzynski.
After researching yacht architecture, the pair came up with the idea for a self-sufficient 2 family home that includes an integrated floating dock (rises and falls with tide levels), desalination water treatment, and tidal and solar energy generators.
formodesign used Corian for the exterior of the unique building — the core foundation is made from combination of concrete and steel and utilizes a sea bed pile system.
In addition to energy generation through solar and tidal generators, the design for the self sufficient homes include systems for water recycling, and computer-aided shading systems.

That would fit into Kevin Costner's Waterworld!
Very interesting concept, but not to all tastes methinks.

"a self-sufficient 2 family home"
Geez, hope you like your neighbors! Cool, though.

I just passed out from sheer desire. I would LOVE this. I love the water (love love love) and to live with views like that? YES PLEASE. I would make the interior a little warmer though . .. it's a teensy bit too stark for my tastes.

i think for a permenant home it would be a bit much and not very practical but for a summer house or vacation home... THAT would be fabulous
