If you want to get lost for a little while, shop around a bit on Sell Modern - it's a website devoted to selling modern homes. We found it the other day when we were writing this. They've got a lot of mid century architecture for sale, but what stopped us cold was the thoroughly contemporary Xeros Modern Residence by blank studio...

You never come across something like this at Corcoran or Brown Harris Stevens. But at Sell Modern, it's kind of normal. It's weird to us to think of architecture like this being for sale - we guess we generally just think of it being built but not of reselling. Snoop around at Sell Modern a bit and we think you'll at least come away with some good home inspiration, if not a new home!
Interestingly, the Xeros Modern Residence was designed and built by blank studio as their own office and personal residence. And only a FEW years ago. Makes you wonder, did blank studio:
1) outgrow the office/residence so quickly,
2) grow tired of their own design so quickly, or
3) design and build it purely for the purpose of resale, despite their previous statements that it was built for their own long term use.
Mind you, I think it's a great house myself. BUT if either #1 or #2 above, then something makes it a not so great house. And if #3 above, the architect was a bit dishonest in their original statements about its use.

It couldn't be that that the place was financed on a sub-prime or adjustable-rate loan and they, like so many others in thie country, simply over-leveraged themselves and need to sell?
