Teeny-Tiny Key West Cottage
The New York Times 2.13.09

2-13-key-west-1.jpgThe New York Times show us how Murphy Davis — co-artistic director of the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor, New York — has designed his 485-square-foot worker's cottage in the historic district of Key West to take full advantage of the location and lifestyle of his island surroundings...

"Mr. Davis approached the redesign the way he would a stage set that can be modified at any moment. Pieces are flexible, movable and inexpensive."

The small space was done on a tight budget — we love the original louvered windows and the decision Mr. Davis made to exclude any interior doors. Inexpensive fabric panels keep the small cottage breezy and open to the island air!

Nice from what I see, but where's the kitchen and I love to see floorplans included, especially for such small spaces.

Love the floors.

If 485 sq ft. is teeny tiny, then my place is eensy weensy.

bromeliad - i think it makes a difference that this is a 485 square foot stand-alone house, and not an apartment. right?

I hate to think of bathroom smells being blown with great force through that billowing yellow curtain into the main living space (:(

(it also looks to me like there is a folding door under the yellow curtain ...)
