This family residence located in the narrow streets of Barcelona's Gotico area was given a fresh update with the recent renovation designed by architect Gus Wüstermann. By inserting a Crusch Alba or White Cross into the center of the apartment, the architect created a program for a new central kitchen and bathroom and brought in lots of light.

The two intersecting parts of the cross are loosely defined as the bathroom and the kitchen. Open to all rooms, the white cross serves as the central axis of the apartment. The contrast between the bright white and modern cross and the remaining rooms highlight the building's history by leaving the existing raw stone walls, wall paintings and raw plaster finishes intact. — this is our favorite part of the design!
On an extension of the white cross into the more private children's bedroom, you can see that in images 8 and 9, the children’s lounge also functions as a bathtub, if you take off the top.

Great simple, clean and straight lines. I really like how the oven etc is hidden behind cupboard doors. I'm definitely going to copy that idea when I get a new kitchen.
