My kitchen fireplace - brushed stainless steel mosaic tiles. Although the kitchen isn't quite finished, I couldn't resist posting a photo of this fireplace. The mosaic tiles on the hearth are brushed stainless steel, the same finish as my taps, hob and extractor fan. I love this corner.

Beautiful! Simply stunning! And now for a more practical question...I am looking for a similiar white paint (heat resistant) for a cast-iron fireplace that I have just had sandblasted. Could I ask you what you used? Many thanks.

WHAT IS THAT COLOR grey!? I love it and I'm in desperate need of a good color in that family!

Hi, the paint was already there when I bought this flat, and I don't think I will ever use this as a working fireplace - so can't be much help there. But does the surround need to be fireproof? I would have thought it only matters about the inner grate etc.

The grey paint is BEAUTIFUL. I love it, in fact it is a bit of a waste because I would love to paint my hallway in this colour. It is slightly more green than it looks here. It is Portland Stone by Little Greene Paint company, but I think it is only available in Europe.

Neat! I want to copy this idea! It looks so much better than the ugly red square tiles in front of my fireplace, which remind me of a McDonald's floor circa 1980.
