Betty Draper's Victorian fainting sofa that clashes with her "new" 1963 decor in the TV show Mad Men caused a fuss yesterday in our post The Drapers' New Living Room Decor. Fainting sofas conjure up images of feeble women in tight corsets who faint at the slightest upset. We've found some modern versions you may actually want in your home.
The term "fainting couch" was coined in the early 1900s. The couch is backless but has one elevated side for reclining.

Is that head pillow worn or made of cow hide? Either way it looks amazing. Actually, it would be more amazing if it was worn, leaving the white residue in that pattern.
