Dippy Red Rug at The Rug Company

11-8-dippy1.jpg

More More Color. We're getting on the color bandwagon ourselves and wanted to show off this room and rug from The Rug Company. We recently bought this rug, Dippy Red, for a client and are considering buying one for another client this week...

While the room is beautiful - especially the bedskirt - the rug underlies it all and flows from a dark, saturated color at the edges to a pale version in the middle. It's sort of like having a lot of color but dialing it down a notch so it doesn't overwhelm.

The color here is very rich and the material all wool.

As with all the rugs at TRC, colors are all interchangeable and you can use this pattern and design your own coloring. For our money, however, we'd stay with this bright reddish/magenta.

did you design this room? It's great. I love that bedskirt too!

Has The Rug Co finally gotten it's act together re: RugMark? I assume so since I know you guys are supporters of RugMark. That's terrific news.

Re: bedroom rugs. Never used one, want to buy one now. I assume from this photo that you needn't have the rug underneath at least part of the bed (as is true for a rug under a living room sofa)?

Nice rug - has a sort of Rothko mysticism in the color gradation. Do they realize though that calling it 'dippy' isn't exactly ranking high on the scale of adjectives that get things sold - and sounding expensive? :)
