Boston gets its groove back. Funny how Boston never shows up on the map, in terms of cool interior design and notable shops? Well, last week a client mentioned Koo de Kir as the place where she had seen some great stuff. Koo de Kir? We found it, and though Boston is not technically in our Stores Guide, Koo has an online store that gets them in. If Design Within Reach is the work of a man who loves modern design, Koo de Kir is the work of a woman. from the French “Coup de Coeur,” the name is a phonetic rendering loosely meaning, “a strike to the heart…” "Sexy, sublime and soothing, Koo de Kir offers modern home furnishings and home accessories for an urban lifestyle." Koo's taste is unmistakably elegant and softer than New York's, with beautiful items such as the Eva Zeisel vases pictured above, a perfect spindle side table, and luxurious sheepskin and Emma Gardner rugs. Their lighting selection is excellent, but what about Problems? Not everything is offered in their online store (which is a little thin if you ask me) particularly with regard to furniture. If only Boston were closer. MGR

Koo de Kir has terrible customer service. I had a problem with an online purchase and received a rude response to my e-mail asking for assistance. When I tried to contact the owner, it turned out the person who was so rude to me WAS the owner. Never again!
I had a similar fate. I wrote to the customer service about a refund and never recieved a response. I'm going to send it again a few times. Kill them with kindness.
Ah ha! They replied to one of my customer service emails and were really lovely and helpful. No longer banned for life, and now I can reccomend them to everyone he likes ironic pillows and pretty plates.
I am very surprised at the first comment on customer service. I recently went to Koo de Kir after reading this review. Everyone, especially the owner, who happened to be the person who helped me that day was friendly and helpful. I found a new favorite store.
