Have you ever seen the tulip fields of Holland from an airplane? It is completely breathtaking and now Liz Eeuwes has created a rug depicting the scene. And yes, it really can look like this!

She has two other rugs as well. One, called Bali, is inspired by rice paddy terraces and the other, called Strathmore, is inspired by the Scottish countryside. Liz Eeuwes' rug collection will be shown Sept 24th through 27th at the Futures area at %100 Design during London Design Week.

Kinda cool. I've always thought there was something to the way earth looks out of an airplane. :)

I have some aerial shots of tulip fields that I found and made them into Easter Cards last year.

Oooh, I LOVE these!!! I am obsessed with taking pictures from airplanes. I saw the most beautiful fields flying into Northern Europe. I wonder if the designer does any custom work from clients' own photos... not that I could afford such a thing, but I can dream...

Gorgeous! Along similar lines is the Flying Carpet by Seyed Alavi that's installed in the Sacramento Airport:

Love, love, love this! Great link by fabframes to Seyed Alavi's amazing carpet. These also remind me of the talented Leah Evans and her map-inspired quilts: http://www.leahevanstextiles.com/

I like this idea. I'd want one if they were of places that were particularly special to me.

I love this! Especially the first one. Reminds me of many a family road trip through Midwest farm land. Good times.
