Madeline Weinrib Carpets

6-14-maddy.jpg

Carpets by a painter. Great granddaughter of the founder of ABC Carpet & Home founder, Madeline Weinrib's design collection has been growing and getting richer and more complex over the past few years.

We remember her first cotton carpets at ABC. They were simple and perfect for a beach house. She has now expanded to Tibetan wool weaves, tulus, velvets and even denims. Our favorite is still the simple cottons, but her painterly approach and creativity now has created patterns that would fit into the city. Enjoy this tour!...

I recently purchased the Megan rug in chartreuse from the Madeline Weinrib Collection. I have it in my dining room and love it. You can see it in the room in this month's issue of Athome (in Fairfield County.)

I own two Madeline Weinrib rugs, which I bought at ABC. We love them - they suit our casual lifestyle. Prices were about $900 each for an 8x10 rug, FYI.

Is there any place to buy Madeline Weinrib rugs online?

I live in San Francisco and haven't found anyplace that sells her rugs out here. I've emailed her and ABC but haven't heard back from them. I wish she offered a catalog so I could get a chance to see all of her rugs. It's just not quite the same looking at a small photo on the internet, especially when it comes to the color.

I love the Mandala, the Denim rugs, as well as the rug in the photo. I have such a long list of my favorite Madeline Weinrib rugs that it will be a very tough decision! I have to have one!!!

I too adore Weinrib's collection. The cotton rugs are even well priced! However, I ran into a surprising roadblock when I visited ABC and wanted to order fabric for pillows. The minimum order for each pattern is 5 yards. You can purchase pillows, but the small ones are $360 each. They are beautifully made, yes, but more than my client wanted to spend as we were hoping to do 6 or 7 pillows in different patterns and sizes. Frustrating and very disappointing.

The MW rugs are such a huge seller at our shop in Atlanta. We decided to take one off the floor and put it on the bed - seriously cool. Check out the fun look we did with some Lulu DK Matouk bedding:
