Comedian, TV presenter and new boyfriend of the "girl-who-kissed-a-girl", Russell Brand is selling his London home. True to character — the pad is dark and dangerous! The interior is predominantly Modern Gothic with a lot of black and OTT features. The reception room gets our vote for the most "out there" with its black and silver flock wallpaper, golden carpet, diamante studded antlers and a huge plasma screen. Brand once confessed: “I am slightly intimidated by that room. I tend not to go in there much. You shouldn’t have a room you’re intimidated by.”

I cannot stand this guy.

Ditto cassielynn. Whoever buys it, I hope they have the place fumigated first. With particular focus on the bedroom.

I'm sure it wasn't that long this was featured as a makeover in some mag. He shoudn't have entrusted it to some pretentious interior designer. it's gone past it's useby style.

If this doesn't clue in people that antler art is so over, what will?

Um, I think he's, you know, in part at least, joking? The apartment is certainly consistent with his comic persona, which seems to be somewhere around being so over the top and embarrassing that it always seems somehow purposeful, so that he can never be really embarrassed, because no one knows if he really means it.He's pretty funny, and so is his place.

I don't know who Russell Brand is, so I'm just looking at an interior, and I'm seeing a pretty ugly space. Black [almost] alone doesn't equal goth. "Modern Goth" sounds oxymoron to me. Maybe I'm just not savvy--or maybe it's just heavy-handed and awkward, as it seems to me. . . .

I love Russell Brand! This place doesn't strike me as "goth" at all, in fact it looks more grown-up and less outre than I would expect his lair to look. He certainly isn't the only one to make the antler mistake, and I think the wallpapers are lovely (if overused).

I agree ruckus. No animal parts. Needs to add at least another color to b&w. The dining area must double as a dining/office conference table.

It looks pretty tame compared to his perceived personality and persona.
It looks like someone styled it based on his performances, rather than him as a person and felt intimated so just played it safe.
As a person I think he's pretty interesting. Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but he's a British gem, even if half the country hates him.

Reading the description before looking at the pictures, I was expecting something much worse, especially in the reception room.
I feel like I've seen much crazier things on AT, they just weren't in the home of a wacky British celebrity with a penchant for black patterned wallpaper.
I actually like some of the pieces (just a bit too much when placed all together).

Maybe there's something wrong with me, but I love everything but the dining area. And I'm not necessarily a fan of Russel Brand, but I loved him in Forgetting Sarah Marshall.

It's like he masturbated all around the house and he exploded trends all over his place.
The bathroom is super nice but yup, that is what a douchebag's place looks like.

It looks like the designer just shellacked on the latest trend, made it black because the client was a bachelor, and didn't take the actual occupant into account.
But then this "high glamour" interiors style was never, ever about longevity, practicality, or reality.

I like Russell Brand- although I think his humour is more suited to Brits and those of the Commonwealth (although some Americans would like him, most probably don't *get* him). The curtains in the bedroom remind me of his hair.
