Are you Curing in NYC? Then come on down today (Sunday) to a Cure masterclass at the Domino Bazaar! After you shop, we can talk about how to pare down ;-).

Has anyone been to the Domino bazaar? How likely is it to get the appointment for the design and color consultations?

I just came from the Bazaar, man was it a let down. Very few products. Maybe it was Thursday and they were holding back, all the lectures and talks didn't start until tomorrow.

I was there today too and it was very quiet. Not sure what I was expecting, but thought it was pretty lame. Products were OK, I came away with some fun Moroccan tea glasses, that's about it. No one seemed to know much about the products and all the good stuff (classes, sweeps) starts tomorrow. Won't go next year.

The Domino Bazaar was AWFUL last year. Seriously, I was so disappointed I felt that Domino and everyone involved should have been really embarrassed and given people their money back. I had been hoping they had improved things this year (I viewed AT's involvement as a positive sign!), but it sounds like it is the same poorly conceived event. Last year's event was small, cramped, and confusing. There wasn't much in the way of interesting merchandise, it was poorly displayed (like shopping in someone's tiny living room), most of it was overpriced, and there was a convoluted procedure for paying for things. The worst part was the competing camera crews...one from HGTV filming a show, another from a sponsor documenting the event, a third just getting in the way. They kept bumping into each other, crossing wires and getting in each other's shots. It would have been hilarious if it wasn't so annoying.
I'll be interested to hear about the classes this year. Last year my friend and I were excited about a cupcake decorating demonstration by Billy's Bakery. Turned out to be for kids, and involved 4 and 5 year olds dumping gobs of icing, sprinkles, jelly beans, and other candy on plain cupcakes while someone (from Domino? we had no idea) rambled on about finding inspiration in autumn or some such nonsense. And no one even got to eat any cupcakes!
I wouldn't go back (fool me once...plus last year's tickets were more expensive!), but I hope that the AT seminar is great and that people will report back their experiences!

I'm going on Sunday but I can't get any info on the seminars/consults and such...

I attended the Best Bets event last year and it was terrible. I felt instead of charging us they should have paid us to stand in line only to run through the vendors in 20 minutes. It appears the Domino event is going the same route. For shame.
