Design BlogFest Holiday Party 2006: Tonight!

12-13-blogfest.jpg

Come on down and say hello tonight. In addition to the shoulder rubbing, we'll be serving BUBBLY early on, selling our AT T-Shirts and autographed copies of the AT book from 7 to 8:30 (50% of profits will go to SoHo Partnership), and showcasing METER's live "Home Is..." exhibition... (more info below)....

12-6-blogfest2.jpgWe were working on a plan for this year's AT holiday party, when we suddenly realized it was more in the spirit of the blog to go for a communal approach.

So we emailed up our friends at TreeHugger, MoCoLoco, Design*Sponge and Curbed to see if they wanted to join up for a big Bloggy Blowout. They said yes.

Then we asked Marty from Meter Gallery if he'd put together a display of the best Home is... photographs for folks to see. He said yes.

Then we got in touch with our friend Carie Scott at DWR in SoHo to see if she would like to host us. She said yes and upped the ante by bringing in the SoHo Partnership and turning it into a fundraiser. Awesome...

So, without further ado, we now invite all of our readers to join us next Wednesday evening for a Big Bubbly BlogFest Holiday party. All five blogs will be in attendance and raffle tickets will be sold for hot DWR items that will be presented that evening. Come on down!

I would love to go, do we need to rsvp as the DWR's site is suggesting?

Ana, RSVPing is a good idea so we know what to expect. Either here or at DWR - soho @ dwr . com

Ouch. No AT love for the 'Stoner!

PS -- this kids from Curbed are a rowdy bunch -- don't bring up rent control/stabilization unless you want a fight. We may have to form a posse around M & SK!!!!!!!

like we don't have enough holiday parties this time of year. do we have to be present to buy a raffle ticket and/or win?

I plan on stopping by, and checking out some hanging lamps at DWR. Happy Holidays!

That's a pretty small space for so much design talent! But I will try to squeeze in. Closest thing I'll have to an office party this year!!

*whine* *sniffle* And here I'm not heading to the East Coast for the holidays until the 16th.

Y'all have a wonderful time!

I just looked: my office party's on 14th.
So - please reserve one spot for me (can't resist a good chat re: rent control!)

'Stoner, can't you just come as a "private citizen"? Have been reading you for 2yrs, would love to meet in person.

See you, guys.

I really want to come! If i can figure out how to get there on the map, count me in! (I'm here on business from San Francisco Bay Area.. and staying on 7th, two blocks from Central block and across from Carnegie Hall).

Shawn,

Take the subway. Entrance at 57th and 7th Ave. Downtown R or W. Ride to PRINCE. Walk down Prince around the corner from where you exit the train. Prada is on your right, Victoria Secret on your left (both are facing Broadway). About half a block down on the right side is a little coffee shack. This is the RIGHT way to walk. Apple store a full block down on your right.

Continue walking until you hit Wooster and take that right. DWR will be there.

It's not hard. Promise.

Just do NOT take the N or Q train.

cheers,
jayme

Wish I could have. Too far from Vermont, alas.

posted by liza on 2006-12-13 20:46:05

wow...it was crowded. I stopped in for a bit with a friend, bought a couple of raffle tickets (who won?) and left. I was ready to purchase the ashiki(sp?) t-shirt, but you guys didn't have any.

What a massive turnout! Bananas!!! But so cool to finally meet you, and Ursula is such a lil cutie.

posted by Tina on 2006-12-14 08:04:09

Wow! What a crowd...we were just tourists ambling by and found you by chance. Couldn't really get in to see everything. Can't wait till the next one...Thanks,

Congratulations on the fantastic turnout for the Soho partnership. One of the best attended events of the season I'd say!

I was too busy at work yesterday to even see this reminder, so I completely forgot about it. Dang! I love these things!

Oh, well, at least I got some Christmas stuff done.

Ursala was there? I have yet to meet that little one. Now I'm really bummed I didn't make it to the Blog party this year.
