National Holiday Alert: Discardia Starts on Monday

Discardia is a floating holiday to celebrate letting go, so we're letting go of fancy formatting or a picture. (Thanks, Kea!)

Is anyone giving anything up for discardia?

Yay, Discardia! One of my favorite holidays! That must also mean it's the spring equinox, also one of my favorite days.

I plan to start celebrating Discardia tonight, and continue through the weekend: I'm ready... to purge, purge, purge! It's so liberating!

Reminds me of the old family holiday Discordia, in which famiily members expertly needle one another until a fight breaks out.

I've started celebrating discardia today, though I did some pre-holiday purging last weekend too. I'm kind of on a purge splurge, if you will.

Gone: 3 bags of clothes, 1 bag of shoes, ano old ratty dog bed, 2 boxes of books, old and cruddy art supplies, a box of expired film (which I sold on ebay for a tidy profit!), my junky desk, replaced by a re-purposed ikea table, several things I was holding on to "in case I need it"...

I feel lighter already!

So funny, I've aleady started and now I'm finding this on AT. Does it count if the things are still actually in the apartment (just piled up at the door)? Maybe I should wait until the stuff is really gone then celebrate by listing here.

Also consider buying less.
