We've always felt that the web's greatest asset was in creating community and that it should mirrored offline as well. Inspired by Scott Heiferman's NY Tech Meetup, which we've been going to lately, we've started a NY Design Meetup for product and furniture designers, architects, entrepreneurs, students and hackers.

Our goal is to provide a unique, efficient and entertaining forum for designers to get their ideas out to an interested crowd who can offer networking possibilities, exposure and good old applause.

I will be visiting NYC May 15-23 along w/ my design colleagues We are looking forward to meeting the team at apartment therapy. Love your networking blog, inspired by your work, we are in the process of starting a design resource blog for Vancouver, something long over due. We love the collaborative effort and would like to thank you for all your amazing finds and helpful articles. It's great to see talented individuals be more involved in networking the design industry professionals with the general public to help educate all of us on all of the possibilities. Maxwell, what do you have in mind, what kind of designs? Product design, furniture design?
As an IDer, I can bring my portfolio (just kidding) - but that's not exactly interesting to people outside of industry...or is it?
